Maksim Rutenberg is the Co-Founder and CEO of Sured Health, a company built on a simple but urgent premise: patients facing cataract surgery deserve better information about lens options and procedures. Sured brings AI-driven education into the clinical workflow, helping patients navigate complex lens options with clarity and helping practices deliver measurably better outcomes. Before founding Sured, Maksim spent over 15 years building and scaling revenue engines across technology, digital content, and SaaS platforms. He has led market expansions into more than 20 countries, negotiated enterprise-level agreements, and designed partner ecosystems that generate durable, compounding growth. His work sits at the intersection of strategy, business development and partnerships, enterprise sales, and product commercialization, with a consistent throughline of turning specialized expertise into scalable platforms. Maksim holds an MBA from the Zicklin School of Business and completed executive education at the Wharton School.

Dr. Melendez is a physician executive, entrepreneur, and investor with deep experience in healthcare delivery, medical technology, and practice scaling. He is the Founder and CEO of Juliette Eye Institute, a premium ophthalmology and refractive surgery organization with clinics in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico, recognized for clinical excellence and patient-centered innovation. He also serves as a Full Clinical Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of New Mexico, where he has taught medical students since 2005. Earlier in his career, Dr. Melendez served as a flight surgeon in the United States Air Force and separated with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 2020. In 2008, Dr. Melendez founded the Juliette RP Vision Foundation, inspired by his mother’s childhood diagnosis of Retinitis Pigmentosa. The foundation supports research grants for early-career scientists and scholarships for the visually impaired through ongoing advocacy and an annual fundraising gala. As an Advisor, Dr. Melendez will contribute to Sured Health’s clinical strategy, product direction, and long-term governance as the platform expands across practices and partnerships.

Shareef Mahdavi is the CEO and Chief Experience Officer of Laser Eye Center of Silicon Valley, with locations in San Jose and Pleasanton, California, and a recognized authority on patient experience and medical marketing. He is the author of Beyond Bedside Manner and the founder of the PX Movement, where he works with physicians and healthcare organizations to improve patient understanding through experience-driven strategies that prioritize clarity, empathy, and informed decision-making. Mahdavi’s work focuses on helping practices align clinical excellence with clear, consistent patient communication, enabling more confident decisions while allowing clinicians to remain focused on care rather than sales. As an Advisor, Mahdavi will support Sured Health in shaping patient-facing education frameworks and experience-led product design, ensuring technology reinforces trust, transparency, and the human side of healthcare. Together, these appointments reflect Sured Health’s commitment to improving patient understanding, standardizing education, and preserving the integrity of the physician–patient relationship as healthcare adopts AI-enabled tools.
